All inclusive weekend in Stony Plain, Alberta!

The Tennessee Walking Horse Association of Western Canada held its second annual Gaited Experience on June 5-6th in Stony Plain, Alberta.  TWHAWC president, Grace Adams, spearheaded the event in which owners could bring their horses and work one on one with clinicians Bobby Richards and CRI/TRI Barbara Civils. Member, Verna Sprague offered her time in organization and assistance during the clinic. Also a huge hit this year with participants was farrier/clinician Stan Trimble. Stan worked with each owner’s farrier on how to shoe the Tennessee Walking Horse. Bobby Richards covered training techniques and Barbara Civils gave each rider tips on how to get the most from their horse. TWHBEA Director of Marketing, Chris Coffey also made the trip.

Over 20 horses and riders participated on both days that started at 8am and ended at 6pm. Everyone was tired by Sunday evening but had made tremendous improvements both in the rider and horse. This trip could not have been possible without funding from the United States Livestock Genetics Export Program. TWHAWC and TWHBEA would also like to thank Darren and Sharon Neilson owners of Neitek Equestrian Center for providing the facility and being such accommodating hosts.
