Paul Whitey Whitehead Obit

Paul “Whitey” Whitehead, age 72, of Mt. Orab, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

He was born August 31, 1938 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky the son of the late Paul A. and Beatrice L. O’Hara Whitehead. He was an avid member and former Elder at the Mt. Orab Church of Christ; member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association; member of the Walking Horse Trainers Association; Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration Judge; and an inductee into the Tennessee Walking Horse Hall of Fame. He had worked for Kibler Farms in Mt. Orab for more that 40 years, and owned and operated Whitey Whitehead Stables at Kibler Farms for the last 15 years.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol Bonham Whitehead to who he married October 10, 1958 in Mt. Orab; daughter Candace (Charlie) Whitehead-Green of Shelbyville, Tennessee; Dennis (Brenda) Faulkner of Bloomington, Indiana who was raised as a son; six grandchildren, WhitLei Green, Counti Green, Blake Faulkner, Rachel Faulkner, Candace Faulkner, and Mark Faulkner; three siblings, Cherele Willett of Xenia, Gary (June) Whitehead of Bainbridge, and Denise (Phil) Pack of Georgetown, Texas; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many, many dear special friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Mt. Orab Church of Christ. Joe Strunk will officiate assisted by Dennis Faulkner. Burial will follow in the Mt. Orab Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mt. Orab Church of Christ. Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Orab Church of Christ, 400 Smith Avenue, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154. The Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is serving the family.
